RIVERSIDE, CA – Complete Coach Works (CCW) announced today it has been awarded a contract by Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District (Santa Cruz) to rehab four New Flyer buses.
The rehabilitations are designed to enrich the passenger experience by delivering customers comfort and safety. The project will give new life to the buses for about half the cost of a new vehicle. The rehab process incudes the repair of structural, mechanical, and cosmetic issues of the buses. Aaron Timlick, Regional Sales Manager, states, “The buses will provide the agency reliability and maintain its bus fleet in a state of good repair.”
The work includes repowering the buses with Cummins ISL-G Recon engines, as well as installing rebuilt Allison transmissions. Additional work includes new driver seats, internal/external LED lighting, and new floors. The buses will then be repainted and decaled to reflect Santa Cruz’s branding.
Complete Coach Works is proud to partner with Santa Cruz on this project. RIVERSIDE, CA – Complete Coach Works (CCW) announced today that it recently completed a UL Field Evaluation for its industrial control panels that supply power to charge electric vehicles.
Complete Coach Works dedicated countless hours to develop and manufacture a control panel for high-power charging technology that adheres to the highest safety requirements. “UL tests to the most rigorous standards. Our company is thrilled to have exceeded those requirements,” said Chuck Barnes, Vice President of Complete Coach Works. The ZEPS charge control panel is designed to house the breaker, contactor, and interlock control logic that supply power to a CCW ZEPS remanufactured electric bus.
UL’s standards and certification are universally recognized as important indicators of product safety and reliability, which is CCW’s top priority when developing new technologies. “As technology continues to advance, so does the need for higher safety standards. We look forward to offering our customers a UL Field Evaluated certified charging control panel,” states Barnes.

RIVERSIDE, CA – Complete Coach Works (CCW) announced today it was awarded a contract from Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) to supply four refurbished 35-ft Gillig diesel buses.
To enhance fleet reliability, the buses will be equipped with Cummins ReCon ISL engines and rebuilt Voith transmissions. Other CCW upgrades include interior/exterior LED lightning, new driver seats, new flooring, and ADA cozxmpliant wheelchair ramps.
Additional work includes new brakes and suspensions, steering components, and LED destination signs. Once work is completed, a fresh new paint job and decals will provide the finishing touches.
Upon completion of this comprehensive refurbishment process, CARTA will utilize the buses, along with their current fleet, to effectively service the City of Chattanooga, Hamilton County and surrounding areas.
“We are very excited about this contract and the opportunity to work with Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority,” states Jay Raber, Regional Sales Manager, “we believe these buses will be a great addition to their fleet.”

RIVERSIDE, CA – Complete Coach Works (CCW) is pleased to announce it has begun its deliveries of rehabilitated buses to Winston-Salem Transit Authority (Winston-Salem). The buses have undergone system overhauls at CCW’s newly established Memphis, Tennessee location. This new location strengthens CCW’s U.S. presence and offers a better service location for agencies in the Mid-Southern Region.
As part of an improvement plan with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to mitigate traffic congestion, Winston-Salem will provide buses to NCDOT’s park and ride lots and enhance services on its exiting routes.
The rehab project includes either a rebuilt Cummins ISC 8.3 engine or a Detroit Series 50 EGR engine. Other CCW upgrades include rebuilding the ZF Ecomat transmission, installing new a ADA compliant wheelchair lift, LED destination signs, new seat insert upholstery, and all-new floors.
CCW is excited to work with Winston-Salem for the rehabilitation of its buses. “We appreciate the trust and confidence Winston-Salem has placed in us,” states Jay Raber, Regional Sales Manager of CCW. “The buses will provide years of dependable service while providing a large savings over acquiring new buses.
